Juan Bernat, the Spanish defender who joined Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) from Barcelona in the summer transfer window, has made his debut for the French club in their opening Champions League group stage fixture against Lokomotiv Moscow.
The 26-year-old made his PSG debut in a 1-1 draw with the Russian side on Wednesday night, and he was involved in the only goal of the game, a header from a corner kick by Neymar.
Bernat played the full 90 minutes as PSG looked to build on their impressive victory over Rennes in their previous match, but they were unable to find the breakthrough against Lokomotiv.
Despite not scoring or creating any goals himself, Bernat showed promise as he worked hard defensively and helped to keep his team in the contest.
It will be interesting to see how the new signing performs in the coming matches, especially given that PSG face some tough opponents in their upcoming fixtures. However, it is clear that Bernat has already made a positive impact on the team and could potentially play an important role in their title challenge this season.
